We run a variety of hospitality and service type businesses focused, as our name implies, on fine food and spirits. As a company of under 500 employees, I was somewhat skeptical of the value of an eLearning program for our organization. However, we did have an issue common in our industry, a fairly high turnover rate. This high turnover rate created a management time drain as we struggled to provide legally mandated training like Safe Staff food handling to frequent new employees. Also, important policies like harassment prevention were not consistently being emphasized with new employees, and we were experiencing some recurring issues in that area.
With the new employee orientation that Phil's group provided, we now have the ability to give every employee this information day 1; including a message from our CEO, harassment prevention policy, and even a course on fine wines and the proper way to open a bottle of Champagne. From the very first person that took the course, the feedback from new employees has been excellent. They now learn about our mission from our CEO, and critical policy issues in custom presentations delivered by our management; without taking these key players out of their line responsibilities. The cost savings in terms of manager's time, space and logistics is significant, and many legal liability issues are covered all with this one orientation program. My initial doubts were quickly relieved. Phil's program provided us with a simple, easy to use, low cost solution that has proven to be a very effect method of delivering accurate, consistent communication to all employees. I would now, without reservation, recommend this program very highly to Companies of all sizes who are faced with any kind of problem related to inconsistent or time consuming communication issues.
